The Red Aves pattern was based on a piece of 18th century embroidery. Floral motifs are interspersed with birds sporting long tail feathers. In a deep red on a white ground with gold accents. Developed by Thomas Amos Reed - Royal Crown Derby’s art director from 1890 to 1926. Produced from 1936 through 1997, it continues to be a favorite of modern collectors.

This pair of bone china candlesticks date from 1976 (XXIII date mark). Each is embellished with the Red Aves pattern. Plus hand painted gold edging and accents. With inset brass candle cups. Both are marked "ROYAL CROWN DERBY MADE IN ENGLAND XXIII BONE CHINA" on the bottom interior.  

Measures 10.75" high x 5.38" wide x 5.38" deep.

Both are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, pattern or gilt loss of note. See photos for details
