This subtly hued horizontal landscape abstract is by Robert Baranet (1925- 2001). A renowned abstract impressionist who studied at the The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Barnes Foundation.
 
""Tranquility" was painted in the early eighties which many consider the artist's best period. Its elusive imagery conjours up a restorative nirvana derivative of whatever - wherever - whenever the viewer's eye takes them. 
 
The painting itself measures 80" wide x 58" high x 2" deep. With the gold-leafed strip frame its total dimensions are 82.5" long x 60.5" high. 
 
The painting is in excellent condition with no issues of note. The new gold leaf strip frame is in immaculate condition.
