"Wind Tunnel" is a large horizontal landscape abstract. A dramatic combination of browns, greens and blues which culminate around a bright center.

Robert Baranet (1925- 2001) was a renowned Abstract Impressionist who studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Barnes Foundation.

"Wind Tunnel" is the artist's reinterpretation of the colors and mood of his favorite painter - Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. Painted in 1967 - it has long been considered one of the finest pieces from Robert Baranet's large body of work. And once proudly hung in the artist's studio at the Hotel des Artistes in New York City. Moving later to a place of honor in his studio barn in rural Connecticut.

The painting itself measures 59.5" wide x 44.5" high x 2" deep. With strip frame its total dimensions are 61" long x 46" high.

The painting is in excellent condition with no issues of note. The original strip frame shows some marks, dings, and shrinkage of plastic "brass" facia.
