Bold abstract landscape in a range of taupes, greys, black, and white.  By Robert Baranet (1925- 2001) renowned Abstract Impressionist who studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts and the Barnes Foundation. 
 
"Palisades" is a unique example of Baranet's "transformative" landscapes. While abstract - they take each viewer to a different place based on whatever their mind envisions. Oil on canvas painted in 1983. Unsigned and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the artist's daughter. Provenance being that this work has been in the family's possession after leaving the artist's studio post his death. Includes frame as shown.
 
Unframed measures 16" high x 20" wide  x 1" deep.. 
With frame measures 21" high x 25.5" wide x 2" deep.
 
The painting itself is in excellent condition with no issues of note. The silver  frame is vintage, structurally sound, and displays a subtle patina commensurate with age and use. See photos for details.
