Lisa Larson (1931-2024) is considered one of Sweden's most influential ceramists. For over forty years she was the leading designer at the Gustavberg Porcelain Factory. In 1961 she designed the UNIK ("Unique") collection. Which consisted of nine different wall tiles/plaques. Each tile was crafted of white stoneware in relief and then hand-decorated in a range of hues. And originally included a wall hanger on their reverse. The series was in production from 1967-1986.
 
This group of four tiles/plaques was purchased by the owner's mother in Sweden during the late 1960s. The group include Ryttar ("Riders"). Katt ("Cat"), Skepp ("Ship"), and Katt ("Lazy Cat"). All four measure approximately 9" x 9" and one quarter of an inch thick. All include an impressed "Lisa L" mark in their lower right hand corner. 
 
All four are sold "as-is" and are mounted on wallboard which was removed from the owner's residence. All four appear to have been broken and reassembled. All exhibit cracks, some chips, and marks commensurate with prior damage. We have no idea what type of adhesive was used in the mounting of each tile on the wallboard itself. Or what (if any) glue or adhesive was used to piece the tiles together. Which is why they are sold "as-is" and in their current state. This group is a rare opportunity for a buyer to own and display FOUR Lisa Larson Unik tiles for less than the price of ONE. Please see photos for details.
