"Daybreak Over The Allegheny", is a horizontal oil on canvas abstract landscape. This  moody melange of dark hues conjours up the artist Robert Baranet's (1925- 2001) beloved mountains. A renowned Abstract Impressionist, he studied at the The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Barnes Foundation.

"Daybreak Over The Allegheny" transports the viewer via a dramatic yet transcendent sense of place. And much like the late work of J. M. W. Turner it evocatively captures the power of nature.

Painted in the eighties - it is presented  within a lovely hand-carved, gessoed, and waxed frame by the renowned twentieth century woodcarver - Carl Loughlin of Philadelphia..Hence the frame itself is also a unique work of art.

The painting itself measures 20" wide x 16" high x 2" deep. With frame its total dimensions are 29" long x 24" high x 4" deep.
