This ancient Chinese pottery jar dates from the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907 A.D.) and features a rare amber/ochre glaze. Decorated with incised circular swirls which symbolize longevity - it originally held rice wine. Now repurposed as a charming table lamp - it sits atop a carved vintage wood base. Recently rewired - it features a new beige burlap shade.

Fully assembled with shade - the lamp measures 25.5" high x 17" diameter. Jar itself measures 11.18" high x 9.5" diameter. New cord with plug extends about ten feet.

In excellent antique condition the jar itself is structurally sound with no cracks or substantial damage of any kind. There is one very old chip on the top rim of the jar mouth. Has a variety of glaze imperfections, marks, and loss commensurate with antique age and use. The jar was drilled long ago for conversion to a lamp (see photo for details). Wiring appears to be new and has been tested. Vintage carved wooded base. New lampshade.

SHIPPING & HANDLING - $125 fee (in addition to purchase price) will be charged for SHIPPING within the 48 contiguous United States via FedEX Home/Ground. This reflects two boxes - one for the lamp. A separate box for the lampshade. For locations beyond we will happily provide an estimate based on your final destination.
