A mid-century classic - this stacked chrome and glass coffee table was designed by Paul Mayen for Habitat. Some question whether this table was inspired by a rectangular version designed by David Hicks or vice versa. It's heavy 3/4" glass top measures 36" x 36" and sits 13.5" above the floor. The glass top is in very good condition with no visible chips or cracks and some slight surface scratches. The chrome base shows some minor patina commensurate with vintage age/use.

A Spaniard by birth, Mr. Mayen graduated from the Cooper Union in New York. Post graduation he worked at the Museum of Modern Art. Where several of his designs are part of its permanent design collection. He is also known for his preservation efforts on Frank Lloyd Wrights's Fallingwater. His designs for its gift shop and visitor's center are considered some of his finest work.
