Since the 13th century Italian artisans have practiced unique glassblowing techniques on the island of Murano near Venice. This mid 20th century handled basket is a perfect example of "Tutti Frutti". A technique which embodies the playful optimism of post war Italy. It was created by fusing colored glass pieces, multi-hued glass canes, and silver leaf into and intricate and vibrant design. Thus while unsigned and unlabeled - this unique tour de force is attributed as "Murano".
Measures 9" long x 6.75" wide x 6.5" high.
