French painter Pierre Mas (born 1933) is known for his mid-century floral still lives, abstracts. and landscapes. Trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Toulouse his work has been frequently exhibited in Paris and New York City. This work is a background print featuring a red ground. Upon which are black silhouetted cat tails, thistles, and ferns. Over which are applied by hand highly impasto daisies, poppies, and delphiniums. All in a variety of bright hues. Signed lower right hand corner. Set in its original silver and gold gilt frame. With frame measures 29" tall x 25" wide. Art itself measures 23.5" high x 19.5" wide. Artwork itself is in EXCELLENT condition with no issues of note. Frame has minor wear commensurate with vintage age/use.
