Set of five mid-century modern blown glass salad plates - each measuring approximately 6 inches in diameter. Created in the studio of Odilon Avalos Razo. Opened inGuadalajara Mexico in the early 20th century. How work was soon recognized worldwide winning prizes at the Seville and New York World Fairs. In 1954 the State of Jalisco recognized awarded him the "Jalisco Prize" in recognition of his artistic excellence. He died in 1957 and since then his work has become highly collected. Unsigned - each plates features the distinctive Avalos "swirl" with pontil marks on the center back.
Beyond lovely - all five plates are in very good vintage condition with some surface marks from prior use. Some open or "exposed" bubbles that were the result of glass blowing.that are smooth to the touch. No chips, cracks, or structural issues. See photos for details.
