Custom crafted by the venerable William Switzer firm - this pair of Louis XVI fauteuils (armchairs) are truly the best. Their hand-carved (in Spain) hardwood frames are finished in an elegant taupe paint with gilt highlights. Upholstered in a chic woven velvet of a deep gold/taupe hue. Based on the labels attached - we assume this pair was created sometime in the late 20th century. Each chair measures 26" wide x 28" deep x 37" high. In excellent vintage condition - both chairs are structurally sound with no wobbles, creaks. or issues of note. Some minor finish cracks, dents, dings, and wearing to paint finish All of which add it's elegant patina. The upholstery itself is in very good condition with no tears, pulls, or wear of note. Some indication of that the color itself has faded in the sun (see under cushion photos). However again, the current color is not only elegant but neutral enough to enhance almost any room.
