Starting in the 1820's, English pottery firms produced massive amounts of "flow blue" ironstone. "Transferring" cobalt blue paper patterns on white grounds that were intentionally blurred in a firing process. Durable yet decorative, said everyday ware has become highly collectible. Wood & Son produced the "Seville" between 1891 and 1907. This 9 inch "dinner" plate features a scalloped edge and the remnants of gold embellishment.
