Beautiful hand blown glass Kosta Boda "flaska" vase. Designed and produced by Kjell Engman for the Kosta Boda Artists Series. This piece was one of four designs in his "Reef" collection. Which had a limited production span of 2002-2007. Kosta Boda was founded in 1742. And is now known for it's innovative cutting edge modern glassmaking technology and designs.
This piece features a three dimensional orange trout/fish. Which is fused to the front of a specked blue, turquoise. and semi-transparent frosted glass vessel. The design and melange of hues capture the fluidity of water. Dimpled recess on its circular base front/back. Above which rises a slender tubular neck. All of which has been surface treated with proprietary Kosta Boda techniques. The end result being a unique blown glass tour de force. Etched signature on the bottom reads "Kosta Boda K Engman 70 80200".
Measures 5.75" wide x 2.75" deep by 10.5" high
In excellent vintage condition. With no chips, cracks, scratches, abrasions, or surface issues of note. Polished (and signed) bottom pontil has some minor scratches. See photos for details.
