Exceptionally elegant polychrome hand-painted Chinoiserie bookcase. Front and both sides are decorated with asian elements. Interior painted soft green with gilt shelf fronts. Stands 6 foot 7 inches tall yet fits anywhere given it is only 25 five and a half inches wide by 7 inches deep. Designed to fit flush over baseboard (see open cupboard photo). Assumed to be of Italian origin. Original paint/finish with some wear at key pressure points commensurate with use and age. Dimensions are 80.5"H x 25.5"W x 7"D.
