Beyond charming - this antique copper lidded jug/mug with spout features several unique elements. Its top is covered with a lid attached to the copper receptacle by a brass riveted element. Designed to hold hot liquids - be it grog, cider, toddy, or tea. - its woven rattan covered handle insures nobody gets burnt. Stamped just below the lid with a number "1" which we believe connotes a pint. Unmarked - it appears to be of English or continental (French, German, Dutch, or Italian) origin. Measures 6.5" tall x 6.5" wide (handle edge to opposite external edge) x 4.5" deep.In very good antique condition. Copper surface displays a variety of light surface scratches, residual tarnish marks, and other patination commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound - there are no issues of note beyond a dent on two external sides. Plus some minor rattan loss on the handle. See photos for details.
