This pair of very large turquoise glazed porcelain Chinese birds have an air of mystery about them. Research shows they may be Phoenix or hawks. Hence their variety is subject to your personal vision. We attribute them to the Qing Dynasty (19th Century) given they are old and of very good quality. As with all hand crafted Chinese antiques there are very subtle differences between the "pair" in form - see photos for details. Each stands at 15.5" high x 4" wide x 5" deep. Both are in VERY GOOD antique condition with minimal surface wear and crazing. One beak was chipped long ago and has been restored (see photo).
