Classic Chinese cinnabar consists of up to two hundred thin layers of lacquer tinted with mercury sulfide powder. Which results in a deep vermillion red hue. Which covers a brass form that has been enameled on both its interior and base. Said applied lacquer is then finely carved by expert artisans in decorative patterns based on century old traditions. Both vases feature delicately carved center panels portraying chrysanthemums on two sides. 

Also included are two hand-carved hardwood stands. 

Each vase measures 12" high x 6.5" in diameter. When set upon their stands - their total height reaches 14".

Both are in excellent antique condition with no chips, lacquer loss, scratches, cracks, or other surface issues of note.
