TOTSUKA 1855 from 53 Stations of the Takaido. This Japanese woodblock was created by the last great master of the ukiyo-e tradition - Ando Hiroshige 1797-1858. Original woodblock is matted and framed in a vintage manner - possibly 1930's-40's. Print appears to be in mint condition within existing context however it has not been removed and/or examined. Frame shows wear/tear commensurate with age. Backing shows signs of deterioration - some loss to paper/content.
