Classic American Empire mahogany frame with parcel gilt. Mid 19th century in origin, the mirror and back have been replaced prior. Frame edges and gilt areas show restoration of chips, searches, "nicks", and related marks. The result is a lovely patina that reinforces its antique age. Measures 32.25" x 22.25" x 2.75" Current hanging equipment is mounted for landscape (horizontal) however prior holes and markings indicate it has also been hung vertically (portrait).
