In the 13th century a group of Italian glassmakers were relocated to the island of Murano. In order to reduce the risk of fire in Venice. This ultimately led to Murano's the creation of unique glassmaking techniques and styles including "Arte Murano".
This lovely vase is blown sometime in the 1990's. Created of patterned glass in a range of hues from white to amber to clear. It's bulbous base narrows in a neck which is encircled by an applied green glass tendril ending in a leaf shape.. All of which is crowned by a ruffled top. Features the original "Arte Murano Kristall Mery" sticker. The translation of which being: "Arte Murano," - art from Murano. "Kristall" - high quality, clear glass. And "Mery" - denoting the addition of a design element. Polished pontil base.
Measures 6" diameter at its widest width by 10" high.
