Charming yet useful 1980's wine jug. Hand-crafted of salt glazed stoneware pottery in a range of tan and brown hues. Features ridged body decorated with an abstract "swirl" pattern. With built-in wooden spigot and bamboo handle. Topped by lid with knob. Non-leaching food safe interior glaze.. Measures 16" high x 5.5" diameter. Signed on bottom by artist. In excellent vintage condition. Structurally sound with no chips, cracks, crazing, glaze loss, or issues of note. See photos for details. 

 

Ken Edwards (1948 - 2013) had a natural ability to mold clay into amazing works of art. While studying at the University of Puget Sound - he traveled to Japan. Where he met their national treasure - ceramicist Hamada. Embracing his zen philosophy of the craft.

 

For over thirty years Ken was considered one of Montana’s best. Respected and admired for his artistry, technical skills, and expertise. Today his work is rare and held in high regard.
