Rosenthal's Alhambra Collection was designed by Bjorn Wiinblad in the 1970's and was sold between 1972 and 1992.  This porcelain covered jar features a "lotus" embossed top embellished with a 24 carat gold design of circles over a white ground. Often used as a sugar bowl - it is equally effective as a candy jar or "catch all" anywhere in the house. Marked on the bottom "Rosenthal Germany".

Danish designer Bjorn Wiinblad (1918-2006) was known for fantastical yet modern design. Equally skilled in many artistic disciplines, his ceramic works were world renown.
