Starting in the late 1940s Virginia Metalcrafters commissioned renowned sculptor Oskar Hansen to create a "Botanical Series". Natural materials - mostly leaves - were collected, moulded, and then cast in sold brass.

 

This tobacco leaf dish/tray is amongst the larger pieces created for said series. Circa 1963 it includes a reference to the Tobacco Tax Council.  Which was required at the time on anythng tobacco related. Bottom mold imprints inclue Virginia Metalcrafters mark, date, model number, and other related information.

 

Measures 8.75" long x 2.5" wide x 1.25" high..

 

In very good vintage condition - this piece has not been polished by C+V HOME. In current conditon we see NO scratches, marks, or corrosion of note. See photos for details.
