Everybody stepped things up during the mid-twentieth century modern boom. Including the venerable Trenton N.J. pottery Stangl which had been producing pottery since 1814. Starting in 1955 producing hand-painting dinnerware in a variety of designs, shapes. and sizes.

 

"Orchard Song" was created by artist Irene Sarnecki in 1962. It's green, ochre, and brown tones on a crisp white ground inspired by House & Garden Magazine's "Hues of 1962". Each piece embellished with apples, cherries, and grapes.

 

Each of the six plates in this set measure 10.25" in diameter x 1" high. All are stamped "Stangl Pottery Trenton NJ - Orchard Song Dura-Fired" on the back. Several also are marked "Hand Painted By" with various artist's initials following. All six plates are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or issues of note.
