After 20 years of restoration - the "House of the Vettii" in Pompeii reopened in January. 2023 Amongst its greatest treasures are a series of frescos which portray a plethora of putti within a black border across a deep red background. 

Originally the chicest souvenir for any savvy sixties traveler - this Florentine style tray vividly recaptures the glory of the Vettii Frescos. Set within a double gilded band and black border along all four edges. Lacquered decoupage over paper mache and wood. A stunning yet practical addition to your front hall console, library desk, or bedroom dresser. Gilded back retains the original paper label which reads "Made in Italy."

Measures 17.25" wide x 11.75" deep x .58" high.

In excellent vintage condition with a few surface scratches on the front. All of which are barely visible to the naked eye. See photographs for details.
