1960's abstract oil on board painting by Pascal Cucaro (1915 - 2004). Often described as "America's Picasso" - Cucaro worked for most of his life in San Francisco. First from a studio in North Beach and later across the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito. His work gaining fame during the "beat" period - he was nominated for the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1965. Signed "Cucaro" on the front right corner. Carved gilt-wood frame with black velvet mat and gilt fillet.
With frame measures 11.75" wide x 7.75" high x 1" deep.

Painting is in excellent vintage condition. With no chips, cracks, scratches, paint loss. or issues of note. The frame itself has very minor "dings" and wear commensurate with vintage age/use. See photos for details.
