Starting in the late 1940s Virginia Metalcrafters commissioned renowned sculptor Oskar Hansen to create a "Botanical Series". Natural materials - mostly leaves - were collected, moulded, and then cast in sold brass. Be sure to check out the many other solid brass leaf dishes in our Shop.
This circa 1950 sugar maple leaf dish is one of the more finely detailed of the series. Bottom features VCM "Betty" mark and "8-48" mold mark.
Measures 5" long x 5" wide x 1.25" high.
In very good vintage condition - this piece has not been polished by C+V HOME. In current condition we see NO deep scratches, marks, or corrosion of note. That said - it has a lovely patina commensurate with age and use. See photos for details.
