This charming 1940's art pottery cachepot jardiniere is a bit of an enigma. Research indicates that the Jackson Pottery Company operated in Houston Texas during the 1940's. While little is known about the firm - several of their pieces have come up for sale. And are now collected for its Houston centric rarity. This piece has two pieces and is decorated with a "blended" glaze in a variety of hues. From lavender to beige to green to burgundy. Applied over a raised pattern of trumpet flowers and foliage. Printed circular mark on the bottom reads "Jackson J. P. CO. HOUSTON, TEXAS, U S.A."

Measures 8" diameter x 5: high.

In very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or structural issues of note. Some glaze crazing which is common with "garden" pottery of this period. Bottom rim has one under glaze chip which is not visible unless the piece's bottom is turned upward. See photos for details.
