A classic example of the simple style that was popular during the reign of Louis Philippe (1830-1848). Compact when closed - it works in almost any space. When opened - the drop leather topped desk is the perfect size for a modern laptop. Crafted of solid walnut and burl veneers. Desk interior is fitted with a shelf and five document drawers. Above and below the desk are four full width key accessible drawers. Black honed (matte) finish granite top.
Measures 38" wide x 17.5" deep (34" with desk fully opened) x 59' high.
Structurally sound and in good antique condition. Some very minor veneer loss throughout. There is a filled crack that runs the center of the desk cover (visible when closed). The desktop itself shows that same center crack causing a gap in the leather top. See photos for details.
