This "hurricane" candle globe's form is based on an 18th century original in the Colonial Williamsburg Collection. An official Colonial Williamsburg reproduction this "CW10" model was hand blown by either Blenko or Royal Leerdam sometime during the mid twentieth century. Hence no two are alike. Not only elegant - this design itself shields the candlestick within from all drafts. This globe measures 7" in diameter at it's widest point and stands 14" tall. Glass walls measure approximately 1/8" thick. A base ring encircles the bottom measuring 3/8" thick and is ground on the bottom. In excellent vintage condition with no chips, scratches, or cracks of note. As with all blown glass objects there are surface variations. This globe has a losenge shaped inclusion on it's mid-body - see photo for details. Along with a few random "bubbles"
